We offer free nationwide shipping. Yay!
This offer applies to our Cool Plant+Pot, Plant Subscriptions and Plant Packages. We are able to customise orders - please note: shipping costs may apply. Please contact us for pricing and availability.
To ensure your plants are received in their best condition and not held at a courier depot for multiple days, we ship as shown below. All orders received outside of these time frames will be sent Monday morning. We are unable to send stock on public holidays - orders will be sent on the next normal working day.
North Island: orders shipped until 9am Thursday
South Island: orders shipped until 3pm Tuesday.
We are based in Tauranga, in the beautiful Bay of Plenty.

Delivery times may vary depending on your location. We will endeavour to get your order to you as soon as possible, however some remote and rural areas may take a little longer. Most goods will be delivered in 3 to 5 working days. If you do not receive your order within a reasonable time, please contact us and we will track your parcel. We do not post to PO Box addresses. Should you choose to, orders can also be delivered to a work address.
Please ensure you are home to receive your delivery or leave us a note at checkout as to where you would like your plants to be left.
We only ship within NZ and all pricing is shown in NZD.
Cool Plants Subscriptions
Subscriptions plans are 3 monthly and offer a surprise mix of botanical goodies. You'll receive a cool plant and planter once a month for 3 months and what your receive will be a surprise! You'll have to let go of the control reins and live a little dangerously not knowing what you're getting, but we're sure you'll be delighted! Subscriptions will be shipped within 3-5 working days of placing an order. Subsequent deliveries will be shipped mid month.
Plant varieties will change monthly. We will ensure we wont repeat a plant variety for 6 months from the start of your first subscription - great for those who choose to re-subscribe after the initial 3 months.
We offer a free consultation service to ensure you get the best plants and pots that will look great in your home or work space. We will work with you to select products that you will love. Consultations can be in person at our Matua showroom or virtual using email, Zoom or FB messenger. Well run through the best options for your home or work space based on the information you provide us. Orders can either be picked up or shipped direct to you (dependent on plant/planter sizes).
Gift Vouchers are valid for plants and pots and can be redeemed for 6 months from the date of purchase (no date extensions, sorry!) Vouchers can be redeemed both instore or for goods displayed online - please contact us for details to purchase online products. Please note vouchers must be used in one transaction. Each voucher has an individual code and can only be presented once. No change is given on gift vouchers.
Plant Health in transit and at home
Cool Plants ensures your plants leave us in 100% great health and well packaged in their twin cushioned cardboard carton, but sometimes live plants and courier deliveries don't mix so well. Soil may be disrupted (just pop it back in the pot) or a leaf may be bruised or bent in transit. Your plants will recover from their road trip, and continue to thrive - just follow our Plant Care Information upon arrival at their new home. Please download this document at the time of your purchase as we update this regularly. We use Aramex Couriers as we believe they do the best job to get your plants to you safely.
If your plant turns up in a poor state due to rough shipping, please take a photo of your plant in the carton and send it to us within 48 hrs of receiving your order. We will lodge a claim with our courier using your photo. Please reseal your carton and we will arrange for it to be picked up. Once a credit has been processed via the courier company we will provide a full refund.
Loss of parcel
In the event that a parcel is lost in transit, Cool Plants will either replace or refund your purchase. However, if the item can be tracked to the place of delivery stipulated at checkout, Cool Plants will not be liable for this loss.
If an incorrect address is supplied and your order cannot be redirected within reasonable time (to ensure the plant's continued health), we will not be liable for this loss.
As our business is predominantly live products we may run out of stock lines before having an opportunity to update our website. Should this occur, you will be notified and we will provide a replacement plant option or refund your purchase. We will change our plant packages periodically based on availability.
Returns & exchanges
Cool Plants does not accept returns or exchanges on any of our plants as this is a live product. Due to the fragile nature of our plants, we ask that purchases are final.
Payments must be made in full via credit card. Only one payment will be accepted per order. Prices listed on our online store are in New Zealand dollars and will be billed to you in NZD. Cool Plants uses Paypal. This is a secure gateway for online payment ensuring there is no need to record your credit card details. Paypal transactions take place in real time and go directly through the Paypal system meaning no credit card details are recorded.
Dont have a PayPal account? No worries, just click the "Check out withPay Pal" option - it will then take you to the next screen when you're offered the option to "Pay with a bank account or credit card".
You will be automatically sent a confirmation/ receipt at the time of purchase.
Having issues using at checkout? Just let us know via our contact page what you would like and we will email you out an invoice - you can then pay via internet banking. Easy!
